Visiting Adjarian leader said in Moscow today that Georgia’s new authorities seek for “total control over the Adjara Autonomous Republic.”
Adjarian leader left for Russian capital on February 29, as he said to discuss with the Moscow authorities economic cooperation between Adjara and the Russian capital. Tbilisi expressed concern that the visit was not agreed with the central authorities in advance.
“I have a right to cooperate with the regions of the neighboring countries over economic and cultural issues, except of military one,” Aslan Abashidze said at a news briefing on March 3.
