Chief Law Enforcers Visit Moscow, Kiev

The Prosecutor General, as well as the Interior and Security Ministers of Georgia will leave today for Moscow to hold meetings with their Russian counterparts.
 
The issues of cooperation between the law-enforcement agencies of the two countries will be discussed during the talks.


The General Prosecutor Irakli Okruashvili did not rule out, that the sides will discuss the issue regarding extradition of those persons, who are wanted by the Georgian authorities and are presently hiding in Russia. Among them there is a former governor of the Kvemo Kartli region Levan Mamaladze, who is accused of misuse of power and misappropriation of state funds.


From Moscow the power ministers will leave for Kiev on April 7, to attend the annual ministerial summit of the Commonwealth of Independent States’ member countries.
 
“The issues of drug-trafficking and combating terrorism will be discussed at the Summit,” Prosecutor General Irakli Okruashvili said in an interview to the Rustavi 2 television on April 6.
