Representative of Adjarian Autonomy in Tbilisi Hamlet Tchipashvili told reporters today that Tengiz Asanidze will be released from custody after the European Court of Human Right (ECHR) ruled that the Georgian government had to secure Asanidze’s release “at the earliest possible date.”
“I do not think there will be any problem regarding the release of Asanidze,” representative of the Autonomous Republic said.
According to the court ruling, Tengiz Asanidze, former mayor of Batumi, who is currently in custody in Adjarian Autonomy, should be released immediately after 12 years of imprisonment.
