Individual Entrepreneurs will be Tax Exempt

Self-employed entrepreneurs in Georgia will be tax exempt, President Saakashvili said at a government’s session on April 16.

“There are around 800,000 individual entrepreneurs in Georgia and none of them will pay taxes,” Finance Minister Zurab Noghaideli told reporters later.

President Saakashvili said that he will put this proposal in force through a special degree, before the new tax code is adopted. Exemption would apply only to self-employed persons who do not employ any hired workers.
