Georgia holds its largest ever military exercises in the Black Sea town of Poti near the defiant Adjara Autonomous Republic on April 30-May 2.
Up to 40 armored vehicles, coastguard vessels and air forces will be involved in the military exercises codenamed as Dioscuria – 2004. Over 2,000 officers and soldiers including those trained by the U.S. military instructors in frames of Georgia Train-and-Equip Program will participate in the exercises.
According to the military exercises’ scenario, Georgian armed forces will have to protect the oil pipeline against terrorist attacks; ensure civilians security and raids on drug labs.
