Gigi Tsereteli, the Healthcare Minister, filed resignation late on May 3. He is elected MP in Tbilisi’s single-mandate constituency in November 2, 2003 elections.
He explained decision with the willingness to continue activity in the Parliament. According to the law a person can not occupy parliamentary seat and be the cabinet member simultaneously.
It is most likely that Lado Tchipashvili of ruling National Movement-Democrats party, who now chairs the Parliamentary Committee for Healthcare, will replace Gigi Tsereteli on the minister’s position.
