“I guarantee the security of those persons, who observe the Constitution of Georgia,” Zurab Zhvania said after the talks on May 5.
Jemal Gogitidze said the crisis should be settled through the negotiations. “As for Aslan Abashidze’s [Adjarian leader] resignation, this person himself should solve this issue, as well as Adjarians themselves will decide the issue,” Jemal Gogitidze said.
After the talks Zurab Zhvania and Jemal Gogitidze headed towards Kobuleti, second larges town of Adjara and then left for Adjarian capital Batumi, where estimated 15,000 protesters are demanding Aslan Abashidze’s resignation.
