Road Link Restored with Adjara

Road traffic has been restored with the Adjarian Autonomy, after the temporary bridge over Choloki river was installed on May 10.

A bridge over Choloki river which is a main road link between Adjara and the rest of Georgia was blown up on May 2 by the ousted leadership of the Autonomy.

President Saakashvili appealed the crowd of supporters at the bridge after he crossed it marking opening of the Choloki bridge.

He said that the checkpoint at Choloki, which was dividing Adjarian Autonomy from the rest of Georgia ?will be canceled once and for ever.?

?There will no artificial barriers between Adjara and the rest of the country. I think this will be somehow indicated in the new Constitution of Adjara,? he added.

The President appealed to the Georgians to spent summer holiday at Adjarian sea coast. ?This will be Georgian citizens? financial contribution to help Adjarians,? Mikheil Saakashvili said.
