The largest military parade in recent years was held in Georgian capital Tbilisi on May 26 to mark the Georgian Independence Day.
Around 5,000 soldiers and officers from the best trained units of the armed forces, up to hundred armored vehicles, heavy artillery and ‘Grad’ missile launchers were demonstrated at the military parade.
The Georgian air forces also participated in the parade. Four Su-25 Frogfoot ground attack aircraft and Mi-24, Mi-14 and U.S.-granted UH-1H Iroquois “Huey” helicopters overflew Tbilisi.
A naval parade will also be held in Adjarian Autonomy?s capital Batumi .
President Saakashvili said on May 25 that the parade aimed at ?demonstration of Georgia?s forces.?
According to the official information 650,000 Lari (USD 325,000) was spent to hold the military parade.
