Georgia to Increase Peacekeepers in Ossetian Conflict Zone

Secretary of the Georgian Security Council Vano Merabishvili said Georgia will increase number of its peacekeepers in the South Ossetian conflict zone.

?According to the agreement Russian side has 500 peacekeepers in the conflict zone, as well as the Ossetian side. Georgia should also have 500 peacekeepers, but because of the incapability of the previous authorities of Georgia we have there only 100 soldiers,? Vano Merabishvili said at a news briefing on May 31.

Secretary of the National Security Council also said that the Georgian side will increase the number of armored vehicles, as considered by the agreement.
