?The Russian and Georgian Foreign Ministries welcome efforts directed towards the restoration of trust and friendship between the Georgian and Ossetian peoples,? a joint statement, issued on June 7 by the Russian and Georgian Foreign Ministries, reads.
The Georgian and Russian sides express readiness to implement necessary measures towards the fulfillment of this latest agreement.
After the talks in Tskhinvali on June 2, the de facto authorities of South Ossetia agreed on plans to restore the railway link between Tskhinvali and the rest of Georgia.
The Ossetian side also accepted Tbilisi?s proposal to begin distributing pensions, from Georgia?s state budget, to the population living in the breakaway region.
