Georgian Healthcare Minister Visits Tskhinvali, Delivers Aid

The Georgian Minister for Healthcare and Social Welfare, Lado Chipashvili, arrived in the breakaway republic of South Ossetia on June 8 in an effort to deliver humanitarian aid.

?Our visit to the Tskhinvali region has a humanitarian mission. We have brought various medicines to distribute among the local population. We will administer medical aid to roughly 700-800 people today,? Chipashvili said on June 8. 

The Minister of Healthcare and Social Welfare has already met with his counterpart in the breakaway region, Jemal Jigayev, the de facto Minister of Healthcare and Social welfare in South Ossetia.
 
Later today, the Minister of Fuel and Energy, Nika Gilauri also intends to visit the Tskhinvali region and discuss energy issues with the authorities of the self-styled South Ossetian Republic.
