Russian Foreign Ministry reported on June 24 that issue of ?acceptable duration of presence of the Russian military bases in Georgia and normal conditions for functioning of these bases? was discussed during the ninth round of talks between the Georgian and Russian delegation over the military issues in Moscow on June 23-24.
The statement issued by the Russian Foreign Ministry also reads that legal base of presence of Russia?s two military bases in Georgia ? in Batumi and Akhalkalaki, were also discussed.
The sides also discussed the issue of ?increasing Georgia?s capabilities to fight terrorism through use of infrastructure of the Russian military bases.?
Recently Georgia offered Russia to set up a joint anti-terrorism center in exchange of withdrawal of the military bases.
The both sides agreed to hold next round of talks over the military issues in Tbilisi in late July.
