The Georgian side boycotted a session of the quadripartite Joint Control Commission (JCC) over the South Ossetian conflict resolution, held in Moscow on July 1.
Goga Khaindrava, the Georgian State Minister in charge of conflict resolutions who represents the Georgian side in the JCC, demanded the immediate release of three Georgian security officials detained in breakaway South Ossetia.
The Georgian side boycotted the JCC talks in Moscow on June 30 as well, citing this same reason.
?We will not participate in talks until the three employees of the Georgian Security Ministry are released by the South Ossetian Side,? Goga Khaindrava told reporters in Moscow on July 1.
He also said that the Georgian side insists on holding the next session of the JCC in Tbilisi. ?We agreed twice to hold the session at a neutral venue, but now we insist on holding talks in Tbilisi,? Goga Khaindrava added.
The JCC Representative from the Russia, Mikhail Maiorov, called on the both sides to resume talks within the frames of the JCC.
Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili will leave for Moscow on July 2 to hold talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin. The situation in the South Ossetian conflict zone will be one of the top issues discussed during the meeting.
