Russian Minister of Transport Igor Levitin will pay a one-day visit to Georgia on November 1. It is most likely that the Georgian leadership will push the issue of the railway connection between Russia and Georgia?s breakaway Abkhazia during the talks with the Russian Transport Minister.
On September 10 the railway link between Moscow and the capital of Georgia’s breakaway Abkhazia was re-opened, triggering protests from Tbilisi.
The Russian Transport Minister plans talks with Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili, Prime Minister Zurab Zhvania and Economy Minister Kakha Bendukidze.
