Reports: Abkhaz PM Visits Moscow

Abkhaz de facto Prime Minister Nodar Khashba is visiting Moscow to hold consultations with Russian officials over the crisis which erupted in breakaway Abkhazia after the disputed October 3 presidential elections, Russian news agencies reported on November 9.


The RIA Novosti news agency quoted Roin Agrba, a spokesman for the Prime Minister, as saying that Nodar Khashba, who left for Moscow on November 8, has already held talks with Russia?s top officials.
 
However, the spokesman specified neither details of the talks nor the identities of the Russian officials who met with Khashba. He only said that the Abkhaz de facto Prime Minister will return to the Abkhaz capital Sokhumi late on November 9.


Nodar Khashba, who previously served as a chief of the investments department of the Russian Ministry for Emergency Situations, was appointed as the breakaway region?s Prime Minister three days after the contested October 3 presidential elections in Abkhazia.
