Georgian State Minister for Conflict Resolutions Goga Khaindrava left on November 11 for breakaway South Ossetia in order to supervise the process of demilitarization, which, according to the November 5 Sochi agreement between the Georgian Prime Minister Zurab Zhvania and South Ossetian leader Eduard Kokoev, should end before November 20.
?Demilitarization should be conducted by all means. The international community and the Russian side will also monitor this process. However, we should provide for the free movement of people and freight much earlier,? Khaindrava told reporters on November 11.
Following the full demilitarization of the conflict zone, only a Joint Peacekeeping Force, composed of Georgian, Russian and Ossetian forces, will remain in the conflict zone.
