UN High Commissioner for Refugees Visits Georgia

Rudolphus Lubbers, United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, will pay a three-day official visit to Georgia on November 23 to get acquainted with the state of refugees and internally displaced persons living in Georgia.
 
Later on November 23, Rudolphus Lubbers will visit the Pankisi Gorge in eastern Georgia and then hold talks with Georgian Prime Minister Zurab Zhvania, Foreign Minister Salome Zourabichvili and State Minister Goga Khaindrava.


On November 24, the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees will meet with President Saakashvili. 


During his visit Rudolphus Lubbers also intends to visit breakaway Abkhazia and South Ossetia.
