On November 25 the Parliament launched discussions over a draft law on higher education, submitted by Education Minister Kakha Lomaia.
?The draft law aims at implementing reforms in the sphere of education, as a result of which Georgia will become a component of the uniform European educational space,? Lomaia said at the parliamentary session on November 25.
The draft law is based on five key principles that include the autonomy of higher educational institutions and the establishment of democratic principles of self-governance.
Only the Rightist Opposition parliamentary faction has expressed protest regarding the draft law.
