On December 6 police in the southern Georgian town of Akhalkalaki detained two Russian soldiers who serve in the Russian military bases located in Akhalkalaki.
According to the Georgian Interior Ministry, the Russian servicemen are suspected of robbing a local shop on December 1.
This is the second case in Georgia over the last few months wherein Russian soldiers have been arrested as suspects. Two Russian servicemen from the Batumi military base in the Adjara Autonomous Republic were arrested on October 17 for alleged robbery.
