On December 10 Temur Kurkhuli was elected as the Premier of Tbilisi by the Tbilisi City Council. Kurkhuli previously worked as Vice-Premier of Tbilisi.
Former Premier of Tbilisi Bidzina Bregadze announced his resignation on December 7, saying that he would take a new post in the government.
The Georgian media speculated about strained relations between Bidzina Bregadze and Tbilisi Mayor Zurab Tchiaberashvili.
