Georgian Foreign Minister Salome Zourabichvili and China?s charge d’affaires to Georgia Tsi Dayou signed an agreement on December 24, according to which the People?s Republic of China will assist the Georgian government with a grant of 5 million Yuan (approximately USD 604 thousand).
Georgian Foreign Minister Salome Zourabichvili said that 2004 marked a ?milestone” in relations between Georgia and China.
Next year Georgia will open an embassy in China. The Parliament has already approved Mikheil Ukleba, former Deputy Foreign Minister, as Georgia?s Ambassador to China.
In October China allocated a commodity grant worth USD 475,000 that consisted of office equipment for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Georgia.
