Ex-Interior Minister Released from Custody

Georgia?s former Interior Minister Koba Narchemashvili was released from custody on December 31 after paying 300.000 Lari (approximately USD 166.000) to the state budget.


Koba Narchemashvili, who served as the country?s Interior Minister in 2001-2003, was arrested in October for alleged violation of customs regulations and enforcement of unlawful regulations for the import of cars.


After the arrest Narchemashvili denied accusations and said that allegations were politically-motivated.
