The Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan Pipeline Company (BTC Co.), led by BP, granted USD 9 million to the Georgian government as part of a new grant program for Georgia.
The program, which was signed between the BTC Co. and the Georgian government last October, envisages the allocation of USD 40 million over the next 5 years.
The Georgian Government plans to direct these funds to financing various social programs, including the poverty reduction program, as well as distributing increased pensions for residents of Samtskhe-Javakheti and Kvemo Kartli regions, the Georgian Finance Ministry reported on January 31.
