Opposition Discusses Cooperation

Leader of the radical opposition Labor Party Shalva Natelashvili met with the leadership of opposition public-political movement Go Forward Georgia on March 2 to discuss cooperation.

One of the leaders of the movement, former parliamentarians Irakli Batiashvili told reporters after that there is need of cooperation between the opposition parties and movements, especially against the background of increasing protest of society towards the country?s leadership.

The opposition public-political movement Go Forward Georgia (Tsin Sakartvelo) was established last December and unites several political figures who were allies of ex-President Eduard Shevardnadze, including Irakli Batiashvili and Temur Shashiashvili. The latter was the Governor of Imereti during Shevardnadze?s presidency.

The movement announced at its founding meeting in December that ?protection of Georgian national values? would be the movement?s top priority.
