Zourabichvili’s Parliamentary Hearing Shortly Postponed

Parliamentary Chairperson Nino Burjanadze said on May 23 that Foreign Minister Salome Zourabichvili will brief parliamentarians over the talks on military bases at the bureau session later on May 23 and not at 3 pm, as was initially scheduled.

“Mrs. Salome [Zourabichvili] requested me to shortly postpone these hearings and hold them after the first results of the talks [between the Georgian and Russian sides] will be known. I will proposed to the parliamentary bureau that these hearings be held later in the evening,” Nino Burjanadze said in a televised comment broadcasted by Imedi TV.

Meanwhile, experts from the Russian and Georgian Foreign Ministries are expected to resume talks in Tbilisi over the withdrawal of Russian military bases from Georgia at 4 pm local time.
