Two Rallies Join in Anti-Government Protest

Demonstrators marching from the Tbilisi City Court on July 6, joined protesters outside the Tbilisi State University (TSU), to protest against what they call ?government?s violence.?

Two separate protest rallies were launched earlier on July 6 ? one outside the Tbilisi City court to demand fair trial in Girgvliani murder case and another outside the TSU staged by part of academicians protesting against reform of the university. Most of the opposition leaders called to combine all the issues and to stage a joint protest rally.

Currently several hundred are gathered outside the TSU chanting anti-governmental slogans.

On their way from the Tbilisi City Court to the TSU, protesters clashed several times with the police, as the law enforcers tried to prevent demonstrators from blocking the traffic.
