Russian Embassy in Tbilisi Annoyed with Ongoing Rally

The Russian Embassy in Tbilisi sent a protest note to the Georgian government complaining regarding the ongoing protest rally outside the embassy building; however the Georgian side made no response to the protest note so far.

A protest rally, organized by a group of Georgian computer programmers, which was launched outside the Russian embassy last week, demands withdrawal of the Russian peacekeepers from the Georgia?s breakaway Abkhazia and South Ossetia.

Protesters use laptops and loudspeakers to project anti-war and anti-Russian slogans on the walls of the embassy and transmit music during the nights.

?They do not allow embassy to work normally and our employees and their families to sleep nights,? Russian embassy spokesman Evgeni Ivanov told the RIA-Novosti news agency on August 24.

According to the Georgian media reports, the Russian consular department in Tbilisi has suspended the issuance of tourist visas to the Georgian citizens.
