Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili said on September 1 that Georgia is ready to expand cooperation with Russia to fight terrorism.
“Georgia has already rendered all kinds of assistance to Russia in combating terrorism. Now, we offer Russia even broader cooperation on this issue,” Saakashvili said at a news briefing in a resort town of Likani on September 1.
The Georgian President condemned the terrorist acts in Russia’s capital, Moscow on August 31 and hostage-taking in Russia’s North Ossetian Republic on September 1.
“We are closely following the events in North Ossetia. What is happening in Russia now is alarming,” Saakashvili added.
