Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili left for New York on September 19 in order to participate in the 59th session of the UN General Assembly.
He is expected to address the General Assembly on September 19. It is anticipated that the Georgian President will focus on the unsolved conflicts in Abkhazia and South Ossetia, as well as on Russo-Georgian relations during his speech.
Georgian Foreign Minister Salome Zourabichvili, who will accompany the Georgian President, will participate in a meeting with her counterparts from the GUUAM (Georgia, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, Moldova) member states.
