Visiting Georgian Prime Minister Zurab Zhvania met with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev in Baku on September 20 on the sidelines of ceremonies that marked the 10th anniversary of the signing of the “Contract of the Century,” which envisaged the export of Azeri oil to western markets via Georgia and Turkey.
AzerTag news agency reported that the Georgian PM and the Azerbaijani President reiterated that two countries are strategic partners.
Georgian Prime Minister also reaffirmed Georgia?s commitments towards the construction of the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan oil pipeline, which is scheduled to begin delivering Azeri oil to western markets via Georgia and Turkey in 2005.
