Russian peacekeeping forces stationed in the unrecognized Republic of Abkhazia launched planned, two-day military exercises on September 29, reports the Abkhaz news agency Apsnypress.
The military exercises aim towards increasing the combat readiness of the peacekeeping troops in order to prevent acts of terrorism and diversion.
Commander of the Staff of the Russian peacekeeping troops in breakaway Abkhazia Yuri Naumov will lead the military exercises.
