According to the early results of the Abkhazia?s Central Election Commission (CEC) Raul Khajimba leads in the presidential race with 52.8% of the votes, Abkhaz news agency Apsnipress reported on October 4.
Khajimba?s main contender from the opposition Sergei Bagapsh received 33.5% of the votes. If these results are confirmed as final, no run-off will be needed and Raul Khajimba will become the separatist region?s new leader.
