Spanish Foreign Minister Jose Manuel Garcia-Margallo visits Tbilisi on February 28-29.
“Georgia is increasingly important for Spain,” he said after meeting his Georgian counterpart Mikheil Janelidze on Sunday and reiterated Spain’s “full support” to Georgia’s territorial integrity.
He said that “Spain has been very active within the European Union in supporting” Georgia in the process of visa liberalisation.
The Spanish Foreign Minister also said that Georgia’s Association Agreement and deep and comprehensive free trade treaty with the EU are being “implemented successfully.”
During the visit the Spanish Foreign Minister will meet President Giorgi Margvelashvili; PM Giorgi Kvirikashvili; Parliament Speaker Davit Usupashvili, as well as head of the Georgian Orthodox Church, Patriarch Ilia II.
