Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili congratulated Donald Trump on his victory in the U.S. presidential elections and expressed readiness to continue working with the new administration.

“I would like to extend my sincere congratulations to Donald Trump on his victory in the presidential elections. American people voted for changes, oriented to making the U.S. even stronger,” PM Kvirikashvili said in a message.

He said that since Georgia regained its independence, the relations with the United States have been built on the interests of the both nations and “based on the history on mutual trust and confidence, we have developed strong, comprehensive and deep strategic partnership between our two nations.”

“We are committed to continue working with the U.S. under the new leadership and administration for ensuring peace, security, development and freedom in our countries, region and beyond,” Kvirikashvili said.

Georgian Foreign Minister Mikheil Janelidze also congratulated Trump on his election and said that the United States is Georgia’s strong supporter. “We will continue strengthening ties with our close strategic partner,” he tweeted on November 9.
