Georgian and American Law Enforcement Agencies say nothing about the murder case of Giorgi Sanaia, leading journalist of Television Company Rustavi-2. “They still do not have exact version of the murder”, the Resonance states.
Director of Expertise and Special Study Center in the Justice Ministry Maia Nikoleishvili is the only one from the state structures talking about the murder case. According to her, laboratory examination of the biomaterial taken from the place of murder is being procrastinated because the General Prosecutor’s Office has not issued an edict concerning it yet. Part of the biomaterials the expertise has taken from the crime place is kept in the Justice Ministry; other parts are kept in the Interior Ministry and the General Prosecutor’s Office.
The Interior Ministry, the State Security Ministry and the General Prosecutor’s Office lead investigations of the murder of Giorgi Sanaia. “It seems the President made them all involve in the investigation because he either does not rely on any of them or relies on one of them only”, the newspaper presumes.
Relatives and friends of Giorgi Sanaia state that the Interior Minster Kakha Targamadze is aware of important information, according to which the investigation leads to definite political forces. Sanaia was killed by a professional, which is another argument that the murder had a political motive.
It is also worth pointing out that dirty gossips are spread about personal life of Giorgi Sanaia. According to the Resonance, people with guns and those related to the law enforcement agencies disseminate the rumors. “Dirty mechanism of spying and gossiping widely used by the State Security during the Soviet Union time makes one remind itself now”. The mechanism was used in order to make common people loose true traces of a crime case, the Resonance states.
