The election observer NGO International Society for Fair Elections and Democracy (ISFED) expressed concern regarding Interior Minister Koba Narchemashvili’s statement, in which he accused the opposition parties and the previous Central Election Commission (CEC) of inaccurate voter lists.
ISFED claims that high-rank government officials should not make such statements.
“Such attitude may trigger the mistrust of the entire society towards the elections. If the Interior Ministry has more precise lists, why does not it submit them to the Central Election Commission (CEC),” the statement issued by ISFED on October 18 reads.
