Lithuanian Experts to Assess Georgia’s Border Security Needs

A group of experts from Lithuania will arrive in Georgia and assess the situation on the Russo-Georgian border, in an attempt to figure out what kind of assistance Lithuania can render to Georgia in regards to border security, Georgian Foreign Minister Salome Zourabichvili said on April 9, after talks with her Lithuanian counterpart Antanas Valionis in Tbilisi.

Salome Zourabichvili said that Lithuania is ready to assist Georgia in monitoring its border with Russia, which has been left without an international presence since last December, when Russia vetoed to prolong the OSCE Border Operation Mission at the Chechen, Ingush and Daghestani sections of the border.
