Georgian Defense Minister Levan Izoria, who is on an official visit to Israel, met with his Israeli counterpart Avigdor Lieberman on May 2, with the two officials discussing bilateral defense cooperation.
Izoria and Lieberman signed a memorandum of understanding aimed at enhancing defense cooperation including in the field of military education.
Minister Izoria said after the meeting that Georgia would “intensively explore” the Israeli mobilization and reserve systems, as well as its experience in teaching civil defense in secondary schools.
The Georgian Defense Ministry delegation left for Israel yesterday. During the visit, Minister Izoria will also meet with the head of the National Security Council, Ben-Shabbat.
