President Salome Zurabishvili, who is visiting Berlin on February 20-21, met yesterday with her German counterpart, Frank-Walter Steinmeier, and Chancellor Angela Merkel.
At the meetings with the German leaders, Zurabishvili spoke of the situation in occupied territories, Russia’s policy towards Georgia and the country’ challenges.
“Georgia’s friends and partners: Germans, French, Americans should engage in the dialogue more actively and repeat to Russia and somehow make it understand that it is necessary to change [its] position,” Zurabishvili said following the meeting with Merkel.
Stressing importance of Geneva International Discussions, Zurabishvili noted that “it is time to demand more from our partners so that they would use more levers.”
The Chanceller’s press office briefed earlier that the German and Georgian leaders would discuss bilateral relations, the situation in the South Caucasus and relations between European Union and Georgia.
