New Deputy Interior Minister Appointed

Giorgi Butkhuzi has been appointed as the new, sixth Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs, according to the statement released by the Georgian Interior Ministry on December 27.

Prior to this new appointment Butkhuzi served as the deputy chief of the Georgian Intelligence Service.

In 2016-2019, Giorgi Butkhuzi worked as the Deputy Defense Minister. Earlier, he served as the Director of the Tbilisi Medical Emergency Center. In 2012-2013, he worked as the head of Mtskheta district police.

In 2009-2012, Butkhuzi served at the Ministry of Health, Labor and Social Affairs on various positions.
