On February 20, Gela Giorgadze, army reserve officer, has been appointed as the President’s new defense and security adviser, replacing Dimitri Lezhava, who served on the position since July 8, 2019.
According to the President’s press office, in 1998-2019 Gela Giorgadze worked on various positions at the Georgian Defense Ministry, among others serving as Georgia’s Defense Attaché to Poland, Bulgaria, Romania, Germany and Switzerland.
