The State Security Service of Georgia (SSG) said yesterday that Russian occupying forces have arbitrarily detained two Georgian citizens near the Gremiskhevi village of Dusheti Municipality, close to the occupation line.
The SSG stated Tbilisi has activated the European Union Monitoring Mission-administered hotline and informed the Co-Chairs of the Geneva International Discussion about the detention.
“Unlawful detentions significantly complicate the security environment on the ground and threaten the stability of the region,” the SSG stressed, adding Russia is fully responsible for such “destructive” actions.
