The price of one cubic meter (1m³) of natural gas will increase by 25 Tetri for non-household consumers in Tbilisi, the capital, and by 23 Tetri – in the regions across Georgia starting from July 1.

The tariff will increase from GEL 1.10 to GEL 1.35 for retail consumers of Tbilisi Energy from July.

As for the regions, the tariff of natural gas for non-household consumers of Telavgazi, SOCAR Georgia Gas, Sakorggas, and Inter Gas will increase from GEL 1.15 to GEL 1.38.

SOCAR Georgia Gas has already increased the tariff of natural gas for non-household consumers by 20 Tetri since December 2021, while Inter Gas and Telavgas increased it by 6 Tetri each. Also, as for Tbilisi, a 1.10 GEL tariff for non-retail customers has been in place since January 3, 2021.

In a statement released on May 31, the Tbilisi Energy cited a “sharp rise” in natural gas prices on the world market as the reason behind its decision. It clarified that starting in July the company will have to buy gas at increased prices as a result of which they have to increase prices “to ensure uninterrupted gas supplies”.

Other companies also named hikes in natural gas prices on the world market as the reason behind the planned increase.

As for the household gas tariff, it will remain unchanged in both Tbilisi and Georgia’s regions.

As of today, the cost per cubic meter of natural gas in the capital is 53.972 Tetri for household consumers. The capital is provided natural gas by Tbilisi Energy.

The cost of one cubic meter of gas for SOCAR Georgia‘s household consumers is 56.928 Tetri, while Inter Gas clients pay 49.297 Tetri, Telavgas customers – 58.864 Tetri, and Sakorggas consumers- 56.990 Tetri.
