Saakashvili Says Zhvania should Leave the CUG

(Tbilisi, January 31, Civil Georgia) – MP Mikheil Saakashvili called the former parliamentary chairman Zurab Zhvania to leave the Citizens’ Union of Georgia (CUG) faction. Saakashvili said the CUG is “a politically dead power”.

The CUG had supported the 2002 budget causing Saakashvili’s statement. 

Member of the faction Movement for Democratic Reforms Mikheil Saakashvili said the budget approved on January 31 encourages corruption.
