Shevardnadze Concerned Over Rising Crime
(Tbilisi February 24, 2003. Civil Georgia) – President Shevardnadze in his radio broadcast on February 24 expressed concern over the increase of number of crimes in Georgia.
?The number of crime increases. Robbery and violent attacks occurs more and more often in Tbilisi. This is inadmissible,? Eduard Shevardnadze said.
He ordered the law enforcement agencies to take all the measure to improve situation in the capital city.
President Shevardnadze made a similar statement last December and ordered the Interior Ministry to reduce number of crimes in Georgia.
