Russian, UN Envoys Held Talks Over Abkhazia
(Tbilisi, July 11, 2003, Civil Georgia) – The Russian President’s Envoy for the Abkhaz conflict settlement Valeri Loshchinin held consultations with Ambassador Heidi Tagliavini, UN Secretary-General’s Special Representative for Georgia, in Moscow on July 10.
UN Observers Mission in Georgia (UNOMIG) reports that the preparations for the upcoming high-level meeting of the UN Secretary-General’s Group of Friends (Russia, Great Britain, Germany, France, USA) in Geneva, scheduled for July 21-22 was discussed during the consultations.
According to the Russian Foreign Ministry Putin’s envoy and the UN Secretary-General’s Special Representative also discussed the recent activities of the working groups on IDPs safe return, restoration of the railway link and power facilities in breakaway Abkhazia, established by the Sochi agreement between presidents Shevardnadze and Putin.
