President Resigns from CUG Chairmanship

Today President Shevardnadze confirmed decision to resign from the post of Chairman of the “Citizens’ Union of Georgia” party. In his Monday radio interview Shevardnadze motivated such decision with “extreme lack of time”.

President said, that with his resignation he would not oppose the party. He also said, sad with his resignation “Citizens’ Union” would loose its privileges and be on equal level with other parties.
