Georgia not Under Threat From Russia

There is no danger of Russian military involvement in Georgia, Chief of Staff of the Georgian Armed Forces Joni Pirtskhalaishvili stated today after his arrival from Moscow. “I convinced Russian officials that Chechen guerrillas are on the territory not controlled by the Georgian government”, Pirtskhalaishvili announced.

Joni Pirtskhalaishvili consulted with Russian counterparts on dealing with terrorism. He also participated in the meeting of the Chiefs of Staff of the Commonwealth of Independent States.
