Georgia Denies Information About Armed Clash Between Abkhaz and Georgian Militants

Ministry of State Security of Georgia does not confirm information about being combined Georgian Chechen guerrillas in breakaway self-declared republic of Abkhazia. The armed clash near Gulribshi took place but Georgian guerrillas did not participated in the fighting, Ministry of State Security announced.       

Russian news agency Interfax informed today, quoting Foreign Minister of Abkhazia Sergei Shamba that  400-500 combined Georgian Chechen guerrillas are dislocated near Gulribshi village, Abkhazia. Yesterday Abkhaz military units forced guerrillas to withdraw from Georgievsk village near Gulribshi and took one Georgian and one Chechen guerrilla prisoner, Shamba stated.
